Skeeter Davis was born Mary Frances Penick in Dry Ridge Kentucky on December 30th, 1931. Skeeter spent many of her formative years in the Detroit area performing regularly on area radio and television stations. She now performs regularly on the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville Tennesee.
Skeeter Davis was inducted into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame September 1997 in Prairieville Michigan...Home of the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame.
